Bounded by Royal Avenue, Lower Garfield Street, Rosemary Street and Donegall Street lies a city centre area which has been branded by Castlebrook Developments as Tribeca.
It has yet to undergo development.
The developer’s initial plans met with intense public opposition. People feared that the character of the area would be destroyed.
Since then, the developer has gone back to the drawing board. Their plans have been revised and this programme concentrates on the heritage aspects of the development.
NVTV was given a walking tour of the area by local architects, Consarc Design Group. The architects have been employed by the developer to oversee the heritage aspects of the development.
After the walking tour, NVTV spoke to the architects on the challenges of preserving the city’s heritage.
