Fiona McKelvie, founder of Irish linen and vintage haberdashery specialist McBurney and Black, talks to Irvine Devitt who spent most of his life involved with the linen industry. After studying French and German at Queens University, Irvine joined the linen manufacturers William Ewart & Sons Ltd as a clerical assistant in the sales department. Irvine describes how he was quickly thrown into the deep end of the sales industry experiencing a life of traveling the world for six months of the year selling linen and visiting places like the Caribbean and Scandinavia.
