7.10 Belfast Tartan Day Dander- Saturday 30th November: The Ulster-Scots Agency held first ever Belfast Tartan Day. The highlight was the Tartan Day Dander, which left the Discover Ulster-Scots Centre in Cathedral Quarter to Belfast City Hall reception and music. The day was an event filled with Pipe bands, Ulster-Scots groups and Scottish Country dancers of all ages from all over Ulster.
7.30 Part Two: A presentation from the Forum for Research on the Languages of Scotland and Ulster 2024 conference. Warren Maguire from the University of Edinburgh discusses the phonological documentation of traditional dialects of English and Scots in Ulster
8.00 Guess Who’s Talking with Lynda Bryans Guests: Mr. Showbiz, promoter Cecil Thompson reveals the inside secrets on the UK’s first TV talent show, the forerunner to X-Factor – “Opportunity Knocks” and how his act “Sunshine” annoyed the show’s host, Hughie Green. Local singer Malachi Cush compares his own experience on the BBC’s “Fame Academy” decades later and reveals how a car accident changed his whole approach to life
8.30 Ulster Unplugged Episode 2 hosted by Rab Lennox and Amanda Agnew featuring interviews with local musicians with and live performances, recorded at McConnell’s of Doagh. This episode features singer-songwriters Bud Frazer and Matt McIvor who both give insights into their musical process
